Lester A. Picker has more than 600 writing and photo credits in National Geographic Society
publications, Better Homes & Gardens, Forbes, Money, Fortune Small Business, National
Parks Magazine, and dozens of newspapers, magazines and other publications. Les has been
a monthly columnist for Oceans Magazine and a weekly columnist for The Baltimore Sun,
where he still does travel writing-photo features. Les was also a regular commentator on
National Public Radio's Marketplace, carried on 260 stations nationwide. Les has an earned
doctorate in environmental affairs from the University of Maine. He is a member of the American
Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA) and Nikon Professional Services (NPS).
