A beauty & fashion photographer based in Tokyo, Hajime Watanabe is also globally active in various fields such as advertising and editorial.  He is also putting a great deal of effort into private works and held a one-man exhibition called "code9206" in Tokyo 2007, with Images that combined naked drag queens that he shot in 1992 in New York with a series of flowers that he shot in the Tokyo area during 2006. These unique displays attracted a lot of public attention. Watanabe also exhibited a 5m wide x 2m high gigantic photo  "Garuda 2007" at the Bari Deep Exhibition which was held in the Puri Lukisan museum in Ubud of Bali, Indonesia.

“With the use of the ink-jet print media which is generally known as commercialized finish, I thought it would be difficult to establish my work as "art work".  However, since I met Museo Silver Rag paper, my thought was overturned. The paper has a taste of baryta paper and a unique dense texture. Also, its color reproductivity in color prints, as well as monochrome prints is splendid. It's a great opportunity and good news for quality-oriented photographers that they can express their art works by the ink jet print, and Silver Rag is sure to expand the possibility of their expression.
